We are a rather new rabbitry , established in the fall of 2016 with our first rabbit Olaf, and we now have 18 rabbits (15 adults and 3 (6 months of age). We are a multi generational rabbitry (mother, daughter, and grand kids helping on occasions) located on the Mid-Coast of Maine in Newcastle.
We specialize in 100% German Angora Rabbits (white with red eyes) , our main objective is to consistently use breeding stock that is registered and produce animals that meet the IAGARB (International Association German Angora Rabbit Breeders) standard of perfection. 70% of our adult rabbits are registered or in the registration process with IAGARB, being a registered rabbit is the highest distinction a rabbit can achieve within the IAGARB organization. These rabbits are tested and evaluated for their body conformation, their wool production and their pedigree authenticity. To successfully pass the IAGARB registration testing, the rabbit must earn a minimum of 80 out of 100 points for body conformation and wool quality and they must produce a minimum of 325 grams (11.48 ozs) of wool in a 90-day period. Many of our juniors that are for sale and are old enough to be tested are or soon will be registered so you can be sure the rabbit you are buying already has the IAGARB ‘seal of approval’. We realize that like people each bunny has its own temperament and personality our bunnies are handled and socialized on a daily basis. With all these gorgeous wool producing rabbits, of course, we have mountains of soft white fluffy fiber that we have spun into yarn, roving and raw fiber for our spinners and felters.
